Why Many Students Struggle to Understand Maths

Many parents notice that their child attends Maths classes regularly, yet still struggles to understand key concepts. Often, the issue is not a lack of effort, but that learning gaps are not identified early enough.

At Care Tutoring, we use a structured blended learning and assessment approach that ensures students are prepared before class, assessed on their understanding, and then guided through personalised live tutoring.

This approach is designed for Australian students from Year 5 to Year 12, following the Australian curriculum, and is delivered online across NSW with limited face-to-face sessions.

Our Three-Step Blended Learning Approach

  1. 1Pre-class video learning
  2. 2A short online assessment
  3. 3Personalised live tutoring based on assessment results

Step 1: Pre-Class Video Learning – Building Strong Foundations

Before attending a live tutoring session, students watch a short, topic-focused video. These videos introduce Maths concepts in simple language and allow students to learn at their own pace.

Step 2: Short Online Test – Measuring Understanding Before Class

After watching the video, students complete a short online test that measures understanding and highlights learning gaps. Results are shared with the tutor before the live session.

Step 3: Live Tutoring – Personalised Support Based on Test Results

Tutors use test results to provide targeted explanations, helping students move from basic concepts to advanced problem-solving.

Why This Approach Works

  • Identifies learning gaps early: Assessment results show exactly where students need help before the tutoring session
  • Makes tutoring sessions more effective: Tutors can focus on specific problem areas rather than reviewing everything
  • Builds confidence: Students arrive at sessions already familiar with the topic, reducing anxiety
  • Encourages active learning: Pre-class preparation ensures students are engaged and ready to participate

Ideal for Years 5–12 Students Across NSW

This approach supports upper primary, high school, and senior students preparing for exams. Whether your child is in Year 5 building foundational skills or Year 12 preparing for the HSC, our blended learning method adapts to their needs.

Helping Students Learn Maths Smarter, Not Harder

By combining preparation, assessment, and personalised tutoring, Care Tutoring helps students understand Maths with confidence. Our structured approach ensures that no learning gap goes unnoticed, and every tutoring session delivers real progress.
